Our Mandate

Founded in 1995, Girls Action Foundation is a national charitable organization that inspires and supports the empowerment, leadership and healthy development of girls and young women across Canada.

Through its innovative programs, research, and leadership to a network of over 200 partnering organizations and projects, Girls Action reaches over 60,000 girls and young women annually.

It provides opportunities for girls and young women to build their strength, discover their power and gain the confidence they need to bring their gifts to the world.

How We Make a Difference

INNOVATION
Our programs address the most important and relevant issues facing girls and young women.

INCLUSION
We reach girls and young women across Canada who need our attention most - 90% are in marginalized communities, including Northern, remote, and inner city communities.

LEADERSHIP
We nurture the leadership of girls and young women by providing access to resources, networks, mentors, and opportunities to build new skills.

CHANGE
We encourage the understanding and elimination of barriers, including poverty, racism and violence.

CATALYST
Our work inspires action in the lives of girls, young women and communities.
