About the authors: Siobhan O’Connor and Alexandra Spunt are the co-authors of No More Dirty Looks: The Truth About Your Beauty Products and the Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics. Both from Montreal, Siobhan and Alexandra met in high school and later began their writing careers together at the Montreal Mirror.
Siobhan is now Senior Editor at Prevention Magazine in New York, the leading health magazine for women with more than 10 million monthly readers. As a magazine editor for the past ten years in New York, she has edited award-winning features for GOOD magazine and others, writes regularly for many national magazines, and recently won a Folio Award for feature writing.
Alexandra is a freelance journalist and marketing consultant in Los Angeles. She previously headed up the branding team at American Apparel where she helped develop the advertising campaign and was a company spokesperson. Before that she worked as a modeling agent for NEXT and, while in college, as a television host.
The friends recently appeared on the TODAY Show together. Siobhan also appeared on The Doctors, and Martha Stewart’s Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer. They have done more than 50 radio shows including NPR’s Leonard Lopate Show and The Kathleen Show. Their book has been featured in New York Magazine, TIME Magazine, US News & World Report, on the Huffington Post, the Daily Beast, Treehugger, and many other media outlets.

Running until June and continuing in the fall, you’ll have a chance to participate in FREE webinars on topics such as safe cosmetics; women in the arts; social, environmental and political activism; building communities and organizations; the law; and arts as a medium for social change.
These one-hour webinars will lead with presentations from experienced, dedicated and inspiring SPARKS. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A session where you get to ask SPARKS your questions and engage in a lively discussion.

Siobhan O’Connor et Alexandra Spunt sont co-auteures de No More Dirty Looks: The Truth About Your Beauty Products et le Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics. Toutes deux originaires de Montréal, Siobhan et Alexandra se sont connues à l’école secondaire et ont entrepris leur carrière d’auteures ensemble à l’hebdomadaire culturel Mirror de Montréal.
Siobhan est aujourd’hui rédactrice en chef de Prevention Magazine à New York, un important magazine de santé pour les femmes, lu chaque mois par plus de 10 millions de personnes. Elle travaille à New York en tant que rédactrice en chef de magazines depuis maintenant une dizaine d’années et de nombreux articles primés ont été publiés sous sa direction (au magazine GOOD et ailleurs). Elle écrit régulièrement pour des magazines nationaux et ses articles lui ont récemment valu un Folio Award.
Alexandra est actuellement journaliste à la pige et consultante en marketing à Los Angeles. Elle a auparavant été en charge de l’équipe de commercialisation de American Apparel où elle a participé à la conception de la campagne de publicité et agi à titre de porte-parole. Elle a également travaillé comme agente de mannequins pour NEXT et a été animatrice à la télévision pendant ses études universitaires. Tout récemment, les deux amies ont participé ensemble au TODAY Show. Siobhan a également été invitée à The Doctors et à l’émission de Martha Stewart Whatever With Alexis and Jennifer. Elles ont participé à plus de 50 émissions de radio, dont Leonard Lopate Show et The Kathleen Show de la National Public Radio (NPR).
